Greetings! I am Joy Phelan.  I am a Colorado native and have been describe as one with an upbeat, can-do personality.  I have over 12 years of bookkeeping experience, with expertise in billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.  I founded Magical Bookkeeping Solutions in August of 2002. My goal is to educate small business owners and to encourage them to make smart financial business decisions by knowing where their revenue comes in from and what expenses they have incurred. Come tax prep time, I want my clients’ records to be in good order, all categories recorded, so their CPA is able to promptly prepare their tax return.

Services Offered
Payroll: Calculate pay (hourly, salary, commission), prepare checks, create pay stubs; offer direct deposit at no additional charge; prepare payroll taxes – Federal Forms 940 and 941 for federal unemployment, federal income withholding, social security and Medicare; State unemployment, and state income withholding. Prepare W2’s as necessary at year-end.

Accounts Payable: Maintain vendor database; Collect W9 certificates; Record invoices, reconcile invoices with statements, pay bills; prepare checks for signature and mailing; prepare 1099’s as necessary at year-end.

Accounts Receivable: Maintain customer database; Invoicing and statements; Adding service charges as applicable and perform light collections; Making and entering all deposits. Researching payment disputes as needed.

Banking: Manage business checking accounts and credit cards; Online banking if applicable; Bank reconciliations; Credit card reconciliations.

Business Management: Account setup, maintenance and backup; Sales tax, Use tax and Property tax form preparation.
