Read Referral Group Guiding Principles & Member Commitment


Since 2003, Behind The Moon has operated under our signature phrase of "grow your business by helping others grow theirs."  This, paired with our “giving” and “relationship-building” stance, has made us what we are today… a unique resource for professionals to promote & grow their business and the business of others in an environment that fosters the greatest opportunity to network, meet new people & form relationships. 

       
Behind The Moon (BTM) Referral Groups offer professionals the opportunity to create an extension of themselves through the development of strong relationships with like-minded individuals. As with our networking events, the operating environment of BTM’s Referral Groups are one of being authentic and Giving rather than Getting!  If everyone gives more, everyone stands to receive more! 
One industry is represented by one person in any given Referral Group.  However our Groups have unique twists including:
  • NO Referral Passing Requirements
  • Shift in Focus to "Give vs. Get"
  • Service & Giving Back to our local Community Through Charity Affiliation
  • Discounted Access to the Established Network of Behind The Moon
  • Group Option to Designate a Focus (B2B, Eco-Friendly, Women Only, Executive Level, etc.)
No Referral Passing Requirements
BTM Referral Groups do not have “lead” or referral-passing requirements. We will recognize and positively reinforce when referrals are passed but we will not reprimand or admonish participants for not passing referrals. To the best of our ability, participants will experience a completely positive environment.

Membership Training
All Referral Group members are required to participate in a New Member Training to ensure understanding of the policies and procedures under which their membership is guided. Members will receive education through New Member Training and additional workshops on the “giving rather than getting” philosophy and shifting their approach to one of giving and helping others grow their business before seeking to receive.
 
Charity Affiliation
It is a strong desire of BTM to give back to the community. Charitable organizations seek donations. But more importantly, they seek ways to gain support, backing, and exposure in the community and BTM will help them do just that. Each BTM Referral Group Chapter will choose a charity with which to align themselves and will help their charity, not necessarily monetarily, but by giving them exposure with the end result of increasing charitable donations from the community.
 
Access to Behind The Moon Networking
BTM Referral Groups members are encouraged to network in the community to increase their referral and contact base. A benefit to Referral Group members is the discounted access they have to our vast network of BTM’s current community. BTM networking has welcomed more than 3,000 unique professionals to its networking events, enabling all Referral Group members to expand their contact base of quality professionals. 
 
Group Option to Designate a Focus
While most BTM Referral Groups will be general in nature, each group has the option to designate a focus such as B2B, Eco-Friendly, Women Only, Executive Level, to name a few.  This enables the group to drill down to more specific "power partnerships."
